Bungee vs. Metal Springs: A Joint Health Comparison

Pelvic Floor Health & the Bellicon

People commonly think that they cannot use a rebounder if they have pelvic floor issues. However, the Bellicon has been shown to improve pelvic floor health — and the way you begin rebounding makes all the difference.

For optimal pelvic floor conditioning, we begin with a closed-chain bounce on the rebounder. This is how we usually begin rebounding anyway — with the feet not leaving the mat. Simply creating a soft bounce while the feet remain on the mat, this is the closed-chain bounce — and it still offers proprioceptive, cardiovascular, and lymphatic benefits.

Start with small and short increments, and gradually work your way into longer and higher-impact bouncing as your body adapts and your pelvic floor strengthens.

I typically integrate rebounding into my somatic Fascia FLO practice. Here is a sample sequence I use to un-stiffen my body, build bone density, and move lymph. It works for me at 55, and it can work at any age:

Moderate bouncing with feet lifting. High engagement of the core, utilizing G-force to stimulate osteoblasts and build cardiovascular endurance.
